Dance on Camera Workshop October-November 2020

Super excited to share that I will be co-teaching a Dance on Camera workshop with Dexandro “D” Montalvo for ODC/Dance. A little more about the workshop!

Dance on camera is an experiential, hands-on course that asks participants to dance, choreograph, and learn fundamental filmmaking skills in conjunction with underlying dance principles. With this course, students will get an opportunity to work with two different filmmakers and choreographers to understand the technical and emotional needs of making a dance film from start to finish. Through this process, students will create their own dance film work to be shared in a final screening. In addition to instruction, students will delve into screenings and discussions to explore the arena and evolution of dance on film throughout history. With the ever-evolving need for high caliber digital content to help communicate our ideas, this is a timely course designed to parallel our desire to remain creative and engaged while operating remotely. The final film screening will be a culmination of the student's work to be enjoyed by students, friends, and family.
