Ceprodac Dance Film Creation

I had the pleasure of spending a week with the dancers of CEPRODAC in Mexico City thanks to Stephanie Sherman. The collaboration was both in the effort to create a new dance film as well as leading the dancers in a Co4 Dance on Camera workshop. I think more than anything, being back in a room with dancers who are bringing their intelligence and creativity into view with each action and move was truly exhilarating. I felt both inspired and a little in awe. You’ll be able to see updates from the film on my social media very soon. After it reaches completion (which included handling editing and creating an original score to go with) the plan for release will be in Film Festivals initially before it hits the internet.

We shot the film at the Museo de Arte Moderno and they are planning to create an installation with the film in their central lobby area, which happens to be where the entire film takes place. More to come, it was nice to be back on the road and to see that even with what felt like a two-year pause in connecting around the world, there is still so much to be learned from being back in the studio again.

I am so thankful to CEPRODAC and the dancers for welcoming me and my ideas and I am so excited to represent the company in this creation.
